Olive Oil Bottling Unit (OOBU)
The Olive Oil Bottling Unit (OOBU) has been developed to function as a small industrial unit in Statos village in Paphos district, blending contemporary and traditional building technics with high-end finishing.
The building is designed to bottling olive oil and exhibiting the process and product to local and foreign visitors.
Our design promotes the eclectic blend of the traditional and the modern. It is an inspired combination of the verdant landscape on the eastern slopes of the mountainous areas of the province of Paphos, the olive tree as an integral part of the Cypriot landscape history and the purity of the olive-oil; a timeless but always modern ingredient.
Our material palette ranges between industrial steel and local stone.
The 150 sqm building reflects proportionally the local dwellings proportions, respecting and preserving the traditional character of the village.
Olive trees are located strategically in the inside and outside space, completing harmoniously the intervention.
