Plóē
Plóē, derived from the ancient Greek word for voyage, is conceived as an architectural journey - an exploration of movement, fluidity, and spatial continuity at the threshold between built form and landscape. Positioned on a corner plot, the building unfolds as a soft, curved gesture that traces the site’s edge, dissolving rigid boundaries and engaging with light, openness, and the rhythm of its surroundings.
The ground floor is placed at the highest point of the site, maximizing views and integrating with the natural terrain. Carefully framed openings reveal glimpses of the sea, while the plan’s linear clarity is softened through curvature, allowing the open space to become the central focus. At its core, a heated pool acts as an organizing element, shaping circulation and strengthening the relationship between interior and exterior. More private functions are discreetly positioned at the rear.
The upper floor continues this fluid geometry, extending from south to east to provide shading and enhance the sense of enclosure around the central space. Generous verandas and an accessible roof garden create layered transitions between inside and outside. The building is crowned by a lightweight steel pergola that follows its form, offering shade and access to the rooftop.
The basement accommodates wellness and leisure spaces, including a gym, sauna, cinema room, and a bedroom opening onto a sunken garden, introducing light and privacy within a more introspective environment.
Sustainability is seamlessly integrated into the design through timber shading screens, custom railings, and a dedicated photovoltaic system, enhancing both environmental performance and architectural expression.
